Programs of
SEMATA INDONESIA
SEMATA INDONESIA is committed to implementing various community-based conservation programs to maintain the balance of nature and improve local well-being. Our focus is divided into four main programs :

Forest Conservation
Semata Indonesia protects tropical forest areas which are home to various wild animals/endemic species and sources of life for indigenous communities.
Our activities include :
Community-based forest patrols
Reforestation and replanting of native trees
Conservation education for the younger generation
Cooperation with the government in strengthening customary forest regulations

Protecting the Tropical Heart of the Archipelago
Coastal & Mangrove Conservation
Restoring the Coast, Protecting the Future
Semata Indonesia restores coastal areas through mangrove rehabilitation and economic empowerment of fishing communities. This program also supports climate adaptation and blue carbon conservation in coastal areas of Sumatra.
Our main focus :
Rehabilitation of damaged mangrove areas
Community training in sustainable mangrove cultivation
Monitoring of water quality and biodiversity
Conservation-based ecotourism collaboration

Conservation of Protected Terrestrial Wildlife
Protecting Endemic Animals from Extinction
Semata Indonesia works to protect wildlife such as orangutans, elephants, rhinos and other protected animals from the threat of hunting, illegal trade and habitat destruction.
This program includes :
Population survey and habitat mapping
Community-based law enforcement
Education and behavior change campaigns
Collaboration with animal rehabilitation centers

OECM & Conservation Area Management
Alternative Models for Community-Based Conservation
